Meet Our Guest Teachers

We are so blessed and excited to have an amazing team of Guest Teachers for the 2023/2024 season! Our Guest Teachers are both international and local talent. They share their expertise in House, Hip Hop, Chicago Footwork, Heels, Latin Styles, Waacking, Lite Feet and Choreography. All of these Guest Artists are accomplished community leaders with diverse skill sets and knowledge to share. They offer a high quality education and a top notch training experience. WORKSHOP with KING CHARLES

  • Born and raised on the South side of Chicago, King Charles discovered footworkin at the age of 14. When Charles turned 15 he decided to pursue the style and the culture full out. Him and 3 of his neighborhood friends made a footwork group of there own to represent on the Juke scene in local areas like, 'Markham Skating Rink'. They called this group, 'Creative' but a little while after there first appearance, a more well known group made a 'diss record' on Creative but accidently pronounced there name wrong on the track and called them 'Creation'. To most people, that situation would be unfortunate. But Charles and his teammates used there creativity to keep the name that footworkers dissed them with and blew it up. Becoming one of the most well-known and respected footwork groups of all times. 14 years later, they stand strong and consistent, quadrupling in numbers stretching out to Los Angeles-Japan-Atlanta-Poland & Taiwan in works of spreading to many more. 'Creation Global'.

    Several years after the creation of Creation, King Charles became the Artistic Director and an original member of renowned Chicago dance company, The FootworKINGZ ran by the legendary Lady Sol(who also mentored Charles in teaching classes & choreography and was one of the biggest reasons for his growth in the industry/street dance scene in his early years). The company has gained worldwide recognition for their exceptional talent and skill in the style of footwork and is now sharing this once unknown style with the masses. The FootworKINGZ have featured on major television shows including America's Got Talent and America's Best Dance Crew.

    King Charles travels the world sharing his art, knowledge and talent battling on the international circuit and has a wealth of performance and choreography experience in shows, music videos, film and television. King Charles is a well established teacher and also leads numerous workshops on his travels in hopes of a big bright future for his team and culture.

    King Charles has worked with many top artists including Madonna and Will.I.Am and continues to show the world why he is one of a kind and blow audiences away with his energy and creativity. King Charles is also a skilled rapper/MC.

  • One of the founding fathers and pioneer of “Lite Feet”, a new school Hip Hop freestyle coming out of Harlem, NYC. Being born and raised in Harlem in the late 80’s was a source of great influence for Chrybaby, as it was his foundation for dance, music and the source of inspiration to uplift the youth around him today. He has been teaching Lite Feet and Hip Hop for more than 10 years and has been cultivating and keeping the culture alive with the NYC youth through various organizations. Chrybaby is CEO of “The Breakfast Club” E.A.T (Earning All Together); an organization that supports youth with their passions and provides opportunities to promote their talents. He is Creator and Founder of “The Lite Feet Nation”; a community connected by individuals who were there from the conception of the dance genre, to the youth who keep it alive today. He is Director of the legendary Mop Top Universal; a professional program that educates history, terminology, vocabulary, performance and techniques for various street styles. He is also the NYC Program Manager for Creative Netwerk; a non-profit organization that inspires, educates and builds community around the world through dance culture.

    Chrybaby’s extensive knowledge of Hip Hop and Lite Feet has led him to working with artists such as Chris Brown “Kiss Kiss”, Ron Browz “Pop Champagne” ft. Jim Jones and Julez Santana, and ASAP Ferg “Dope Walk.” His dedication and love for the culture has changed his life and inspired many others around him.

  • Terry B.J. Carr professionally known as Cebo has been a distinguished fixture in the street and club culture for more than 30 years. Cebo is the president of Next Generation NYC, LLC. He has spent his life trying to build the professional structure within the street club dance culture to help develop an understanding of how the heritage of the culture is interwoven with the people of its creation. To fully understand the culture you must know its people to understand the importance and relevance of their contributions.

    Next Generation NYC, has celebrated 21 years of supporting the street club culture. Next Generation New York Studios is celebrating its sixteenth anniversary of service to the street club dance community of Okayama, Japan. NXGN is the co-production for the international street dance battle Step Ya Game Up New York also now has preliminaries in two countries China and Japan.

    Cebo went to school for architectural design in his second year of studies, life and dance took precedence. As a husband and father of four girls, he has dedicated his life to empowering his ladies to follow their dreams and to have pride in their street club dance heritage. He joined the international organization The Ladies of Hip Hop Festival as a board member. He is the first international house dance winner solidifying his placement in the dance crew Dance Fusion and MopTop Family. He is currently the movement specialist for GoNoodle's Blazer Fresh, which is an app used by schools across the nation for teaching the youth school subject matter through dance. After the closing of EXPG and Movement Lifestyle and other community dance schools I realized that as a community maybe we could have came together to help save these pillars in the street and club dance culture and community. I called some of my colleagues and thus the MopTop Universal Program at Peridance Center was created. As a steward for this culture Cebo has a responsibility to help build and educate I take serious and try to uphold to the best of my ability. Cebo also continues to teach and perform while maintaining his responsibilities as the president of Next Generation NYC, LLC, and spreading the culture through Music, Feeling, and Dance!

  • Kelli Forman (She/Her) is an international teaching artist and choreographer from the United States. After years of intensive training in the American Midwest, Kelli danced professionally in New York City and Los Angeles, working on shows such as X-Factor, Dancing With the Stars, America’s Got Talent, and Glee and modeling for companies such as Coca-Cola and Reebok. Kelli later completed her degree in Dance at the University of California Santa Barbara, advocated extensively for diversity in K-12 and collegiate dance education, and for six years held the position of National Director for a dance non-profit organization that provided free dance to thousands of low-income youth each year across the United States. Kelli shifted her focus from community work to global work, traveling the world as a teaching artist and choreographer in Contemporary, Chicago Footwork, and Heels Dance. Kelli is member of Creation Global, an international Chicago Footwork crew with over 70 members world-wide led by King Charles. She is also a co-founder of Chicago Footworkology, a company created in response to the recent global pandemic that provides online workshops, panel discussions, university presentations, battles, and collaborative community events to educate students world-wide about Chicago Footwork culture. Kelli envisions and works towards an international network of artists who will be able to creatively and collectively develop a more healthy Earth.

  • Ziad Aly is an Egyptian Hip Hop dancer who established himself as one of the key pioneers of Streetdance in the Egyptian Dance Community. In order to further develop his skills, Ziad has traveled to many different countries including the United States, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Cyprus, Turkey and Lebanon. He is also the founder of Swaggers crew, which has allowed for hip hop dancers, Bboys & Bgirls all across Egypt to join, train and bring hip hop to mainstream culture through events, performances and workshops. Ziad is Also the Co-Founder of the Egyptian Breaking Committee. His hard work and dedication landed him and his dance crew on the renowned show “Arabs got talent”. Ziad has also had several opportunities to host some of the greatest names and pioneers of hip hop and Street dance from the United States to Egypt. As a highlight in Ziad’s career, he was credited by choreographing some of the biggest celebrity names in Egypt for Vogue Arabia magazine, Choreographed and performed with his crew opening shows for Grammy award winning artists Mya & Eve in Egypt, As well as working as the dance consultant for Redbull Egypt. He worked on choreographing shows for brands like Red Bull, Nike, Intel, Samsung, Coca Cola and more. Ziad is now residing in Calgary, Canada Teaching HipHop/Streetdance and helping the community grow in Calgary.

  • Chris Valcin is a young choreographer and teacher, specializing in hip hop choreography. He is the co-director of Cool Giraffes and has trained all over Canada and the States. Always bringing good energy and fun, Chris is ready to share his love of dance with everyone!

  • Moises Gonzalez & Lianabel Selviz are the directors of Montuno Dance Company (Montuno DC): Calgary's freshest Latin dance school. Montuno DC specializes in Salsa + Bachata, and offers group classes, monthly socials (Candela Nights), performance teams, and competition opportunities for all levels.

    These two bring their Venezuelan sabor, heritage and love for dance to their students! They are known for focusing on social dancing lead and follow technique, musicality, body movement and latin flavour; all in a friendly, fun and professional environment.

    They also enjoy collaborating with other instructors who travel to attend Candela Nights Dance Socials and teach workshops to expose the Calgary scene to new Latin styles.

    Another quality that differentiates Moises and Lianabel is that they are constantly traveling within Canada and abroad for training purposes to keep sharpening their skills as dancers and instructors.

  • Sarah Dharshi (she/her) is a dance educator, the founder and creative director of BBM Dance Company, the co-creative director for Khaled Rahime, and Vice-President External of Kinesis: Edmonton Choreographer’s Ball. She founded BBM Dance Company in 2010, a dance crew with the mission of inspiring creativity, empowering BIPOC femmes, and promoting independence through movement. Focusing primarily on dance has provided Sarah with numerous opportunities such as competing on a national level, training in Los Angeles after receiving an international dance scholarship, choreographing for local advertisements, creating an artist development program, performing on Carnival Cruiselines with 3rd Street Beat, and dancing for numerous artists such as KYLE, Jadakiss, Jay Sean, Kirko Bangz and the Backstreet Boys.Since 2011, Sarah has created multiple platforms for her and fellow racialized women to address feminism, domestic and sexual violence, mental health, body/sex positivity, anti-racism, 2SLGBTQIA+ issues and more; all through the lenses of intersectionality and abolition. Through sharing personal stories and industry knowledge via performance art, Sarah hopes to inspire her peers and allies to use their platforms as catalysts for positive change and to create a narrative through her multi-disciplinary dance work that prioritizes human equity and inclusion above all.
